ED 378 - Teacher as Leader2 Credit(s)
ED 378 will examine the role of the teacher as leader in the classroom and the school. Since this course will be generally scheduled during the first session of direct teaching, candidates will receive guidance to prepare their portfolio to demonstrate their commitment to students and their learning in order to show evidence that they know the subjects they teach and how to teach those subjects to students. Candidates will also demonstrate that they are members of learning communities that can successfully teach children across the range of different settings in the K12 classroom. addition, ED 378 is a 2 unit course totaling 30 total hours: if taught on ground, this breaks down to 21 hours of face-to-face instructional time and 9 hours online instruction through Canvas. Please note that for every 1 hour of instructional time there will be an expectation of 2 hours of out of class requirements allocated for readings, journals, assignments, etc. This course must be taken concurrent with ED 393 OR SPED 391.
