HD 605 - Advanced Studies in Developmental Education3 credits Students will evaluate traditions that underlie a developmental, experiential, open structured approach to education; critique their own values and the values reflected in school programs and practices; critique the role of education as a tool of oppression and liberation for different groups in society; and create personal and political strategies for educational change. Issues and trends in early childhood education are evaluated from a developmental, cross-cultural perspective. Implications for older children and adult learners will also be assessed. |
