HD 405 - Developmental Education3 credits This class examines traditions that underlie a developmental, experiential, open-structured approach to education; ones own values and the values reflected in school programs and practices; the role of education as a tool of oppression and liberation for different groups in society; and personal and political strategies for educational change. Issues and trends in early childhood education are considered from a developmental, cross-cultural perspective. Implications for older children and adult learners will also be explored. |
