HD 584 - The Power of Our Stories: Exploring Issues of Race and Identity3 Credit(s)Students will evaluate issues of race and its complex role within identity development. Students will analyze and critique critical race and racialization theories and the application of these theories to individual and group racial identity development within a global society. Through personal stories and narrative literature, students will synthesize the ways that race impacts their identity. Students will also evaluate the effect that this synthesis has upon their perception of themselves and the world around them. Through the sharing of stories, students create personal transformative strategies to more effectively support their work with children and families. |
